Installation
These instructions assume that there’s a router (and possibly one or more switches) to which the Alfen charging stations and the Teleport will be connected. Discuss with the withthegrid Team whether DHCP will be used or static IP addresses.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 for each Alfen charging station.
-
Connect your computer to the Alfen charging station, start the Alfen ACE Service Installer application and log into the Alfen charging station.
-
Make sure you have enabled the “Active Load Balancing” feature. See https://knowledge.alfen.com/space/OQ/135921789 for how to buy and activate it.
-
Go to the “Load Balancing” tab. In the menu on the left, select “Active balancing” and configure the following settings:
- Check “Active load balancing”
- Data Source: “Energy management system”
- Safe current (A): in case of communication problems the charging station will fall back to this current. A value that keeps the grid connection to be below its contracted value is preferred.
-
In the menu on the left, select “TCP/IP EMS” and configure the following settings:
- Mode: “Socket”
- Validity time (s): 60
-
Go to the “Connectivity” tab and click ‘Wired’ in the menu on the left. After discussing with the withthegrid team, either:
- check “Fixed IP address” and fill out the relevant fields below
- uncheck “Fixed IP address” and assign a fixed IP address to this charging station in the DHCP server
-
Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the router/ switch.
