P1 Dongle

The Teleport can connect to the smartstuff P1 dongle using Modbus RTU with the RS485 serial interface, as well as Modbus TCP with Ethernet connection.
The dongle can then connect to the P1 port on any meter that offers one.

Supported models

• P1 Modbus Pro/Pro+ (software: Pro/Pro+) - firmware version 1.3.10 or higher.
• Ethernet P1 Dongel Pro+ (software: DSMR-API) - firmware version 4.15.9 or higher.

Modbus RTU over RS485

1. Connect the serial cable between the serial port of the Teleport and the serial port of the dongle.
   The blue led flashes on P1 messages being read successfully. The green led is the power and should always be on (without flashing).

2. Connect the dongle to the P1 port on the meter.

Warning

Note that using the P1 port to connect to a meter means that any data that is not available on the P1 port will not be available to the Teleport. For example:

• the current per phases is with a 1A resolution
• reactive power is not available.

Modbus TCP over Ethernet

1. Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the Ethernet port of the dongle.
   The blue led refers to the P1 status and flashes with different meanings. The green led is the power and should always be on (without flashing).

2. Connect the dongle to the P1 port on the meter.
