Modbus TCP over ethernet (recommended)

1. Connect the Teleport and the inverter with an ethernet cable.
   • If connected via a router, connect an ethernet cable between the router and the inverter and an ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the router. Please follow the steps described in Connecting through a router.
   • If connected directly, connect an ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the inverter.
2. Navigate to the web interface or display of the inverter and go to the Interfaces and Network menu.
3. In the IP Settings menu, configure the following settings.
   • If connected via a router, set DHCP to On.
   • If connected with the Teleport directly set DHCP to Off, and configure the following settings, with values as described in Static IPs for a direct asset connection.
     • IP address
     • Subnet mask
     • Default gateway
4. In the Modbus menu, configure the following properties.
   • Port: 502 (or let us know if it’s another port)
   • Activation: Allow Modbus TCP read access
   • Write access: Allow Modbus TCP write access

Modbus RTU over RS-485

1. Connect the Teleport and inverter as described in Connecting an RS-485 serial connection.
2. Navigate to the web interface or display of the inverter and go to the Interfaces and RS485 menu and configure the following properties.
   • RS485 address: 1 in case of a single inverter connected to the Teleport and a unique address per inverter in case of multiple inverters connected to the Teleport
