Siemens
Teleport can connect to a number of Siemens meters. You can connect using Modbus TCP over ethernet (recommended) or Modbus RTU using the RS485 serial interface. Connecting via RS485 may require an RS485 Expansion Module.

Configuration
Modbus TCP over ethernet
The Teleport can be connected to the Siemens meter via a router or directly via the LAN port of the meter.
Connection via a router (recommended)

Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the router. Navigate to our appendix for generic instructions on how to integrate with a router. Make sure to note the IP of Teleport and the IP of the asset(s).

Start the ION setup and navigate to Startup Assistant > Communications > Basic Ethernet > IPv4.

Select the IP address and click
Edit
, then select DHCP as the preferred IP address assignment mode. -
Click
OK
to finalize the setting.
Direct connection via the LAN port of the Siemens meter

Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the LAN port of the Siemens asset.

Start the ION setup and navigate to Startup Assistant > Communications > Basic Ethernet > IPv4.

Select the IP address and click
Edit
, then select Stored as the preferred IP address assignment mode. -
In the IP settings, configure the following settings, with values as described in Static IPs for a direct asset connection.

Modbus RTU over RS485

Connect the serial cable between the serial port of the Teleport and the serial port of the Siemens RS485 Expansion Module connected to the asset.

Navigate to Home > Setup Menu > Communications Setup > Com1 Setup and input the following settings
