Configuration

Modbus RTU over RS-485

  1. Connect the RS-485 serial cable between the serial port of the Teleport and the RS-485 terminal block of the Hager meter. The terminal block is labelled , +, and 0 (Data−, Data+, and Signal Ground respectively).

  2. Configure the CT ratio on the meter via the front-panel display. Navigate using the three buttons (OK, SCROLL, ESCAPE):

    • From the main page, press SCROLL to navigate to Configuration.
    • Press OK to enter, then scroll to Meter type / CT settings.
    • Set the CT primary (e.g. 400 for a 400/5 A CT) and CT secondary (1 or 5) to match your installed current transformers.
    • Press OK to confirm each value.
  3. Configure the Modbus communication parameters on the meter. Still within the Configuration menu, scroll through and set each parameter:

    • Modbus address: 1
    • Baud rate: 19200
    • Parity: None
    • Stop bit: 1

Press OK to confirm each value. Press ESCAPE to return to the main page.
